Before 1964, Lægårdens operated as a traditional farm by Inger and Olaf Olsen, but in the year 1964 went Olaf out on the small field of Vemmetoftevej and cut the grain down. When it was done, he opened Lægårdens Camping on the small, former cornfield.
Back then there was just space for 30 pitches into the field. The original idea to found a campsite in Spjellerup came from the local merchant who wanted to have a few extra customers in the shop. The campsite was a success and attracted an increasing number of travelers. Therefore, it is also growing bigger every year, and have gained many wonderful activities and great facilities for the whole family.
In 2001, Inger and Olaf Olsen made Tina & Henry the successors of Lægårdens camping, that now runs the campsite along with their 6 children. As we say in common parlance it is not a job but a lifestyle.
